Recently, my local Joann’s had an awesome sale weekend going on. It was the perfect time to pick up materials for my Princess Jasmine cosplay. I walked in the store with one fabric in mind, but walking up and down the aisles I came across the PERFECT fabric for this costume. It didn’t have any stretch, which I originally wanted, but tell me this fabric doesn’t just SCREAM Jasmine! I’m also going to be experimenting with interfacing for the first time. That should be interesting. I often see Jasmine cosplays/costumes done with a lot of extra embellishments that reflect belly dancer outfits, but I don’t really want to go that route. I got a single pack of gold bias tape for a little bit of flare, but I’d really like to stick close t0 the original costume. The foam block is what I’ll be carving down to make the pointed toes for my shoes, which I have yet to buy. I’m also thinking about learning to cast resin. *Gasp* Hopefully I magically come across a perfect stone for the headpiece before I decide to figure that one out. Now I’m off to draw up a pattern!
