I went to Pax South this year, where I discovered the super cool charitable organization, Stack-up.org. They are gamers supporting veterans and deployed troops, and I couldn’t imagine a more perfect charity for a geek like me. They send veterans to major comicons like E3, and send care packages full of games and goodies to deployed troops overseas. They also spread the joy of gaming to families of deployed soldiers and disabled vets recovering in the hospital. At the time, my husband was deployed, so this really struck a chord with me. I finally got around to officially joining the local stack about a month ago, and my first big fundraiser event is this weekend.
Join us in a 24 hour gaming marathon starting at noon on Saturday, May 7th. You’re welcome to join my team and pledge to play, or you can donate to the Stack Up cause. It doesn’t matter what you play: console, PC, tabletop, it’s all good. Just play.
